100 Blog Comments Challenge

The 100 Blog comments challenge is on it started at the beginning of August and it’s all just for fun just to see if we can get 100 comments on a blog post well here goes mine I hope I can Git-er-done because it’s now the middle of the month and I have been busy getting things together for a Tractor show and with all the other things you know the stuff that has to be done and then the unforeseen stuff that you have deal with when it comes at you well that’s always going to happen isn’t it.

This was all started kind of by accident by Jacinta Dean she said the idea was born from a bimbo comment she made on a thread that she had started about achieving 100 blog posts.

This was about a thread letting people know that they can achieve 100 blog posts also.

She got a few congrats from some of the Masterclass members of John Thornhill’s in the training forum and then made another bimbo comment of “next a challenge of a 100 blog comments on a post” well another member thought that was a great idea and the challenge was created.

Well I don’t know about you but I don’t think that Jacinta’s no bimbo at all sometimes our best ideas come from random thoughts or comments that we make weather we recognize them or not so pay attention to your own or other comments that’s made there just might be a great idea lurking about you never know.

So back to the challenge there are a number of plugins that you will need for this challenge you can go to Jacinta’s blog to get them she has everything listed on her blog that you will need for this challenge or if you know of other ones that will work or all ready have them installed on your blog or website then you should be all set.

The idea of this challenge is to get 100 people to participate and everyone that contributes is to comment on everyone’s blog and if there is a 100 people that comment then we should get 100 individual comments on our blog that’s the idea anyways.

Like Jacinta said that blog networking is a great way to meet new people, read new blogs and learn new things as well as improve our websites page ranking, traffic ranking and most of all generate back links and many other benefits also.

So go to Jacinta’s blog and get your plugins and write your post and do some blog hopping and just have some fun with this and remember you only have the rest of this month to do this so what are you waiting for get going I am.

Talk later

Mike

  2. Hi Mike, it looks like you’re in the challenge. Could you please confirm this as nobody has got your details on their list. There’s only 2 spots remaining and it would be great if you took one of those.

If you want in please send an email or a reply to a PM just send via the MC forum and let me know and i’ll make sure that everyone adds you to their pages.

You also need to install the needed plugins Mike, if you need any help with that let me know and i’ll help you with it.

I could put a link in here but don’t want this comment going to your spam folder in case you miss it and then miss your spot in the challenge.

Please get in touch ASAP Mike.

Pity you didn’t write about the tractors, I had a quick look at your photos and they look really interesting. I’m glad they are being preserved. :-)

  10. Hi Mike:

You are number 100. It is a strong number, you might complete you hundred this month. I am new to this group but I find this 100 comment challenge a very effective tool for net working, traffic and social media. It can even turn into a face book or
twitter, once persuaded. I did read your post “100 Comments challenge” A well written and text linked post that expresses all the important features of the post. I agree with your thoughts. I will like to comeback and read more posts. You know networking relations are a two way street. So Please read my blog post and write a comment.

  14. Hi Mike

The 100 Blog comment challenge has been real fun and has introduced me to some really great writers, I have added the RSS feeds where I can, not all blogs have this setup correctly, thus will be sure to revisit those sites that are in my areas of interest, exercise and food will have to be avoided, I hate exercise but I love food, yet I want to lose weight!

Great challenge and the bonus is by encouraging people to wander outside their circle of trust new circles are formed.

Welcome to the challenge and I hope you get your 100. I think it was a great idea too. My blog is at the #1 spot for my name in google since the challenge started. I guess it’s because of all the comments and the bookmarking being done.

I think it’s great to meet all these nice folks and to see how others set up their blogs and do things. Some great comments and posts out there as well.

Good luck to you in your business and your tractor show.

  20. It certainly takes some time hoping around all these blogs and then reading the posts. Some are very long too so it all takes time.

You have to read a fair amount to be able to leave a valuable comment. That is the whole point of blog commenting although to read some of the comments I seen on my travels you wouldn’t think so!

  21. Hi Mike

Welcome to the Challenge. You’re going to have your work cut out hopping round 100 blogs in 8 days! I started at the bottom and am working upwards because I figured that if some people run out of steam before they’ve commented on all the blogs it will be the ones who joined last that miss out. But, of course, new people keep joining so I keep having to go back to the bottom and visit those, it’s a bit like a game of Snakes and Ladders, lol.

Good luck with the Challenge. It was a brilliant idea, Jacinta is anything but a bimbo!

  29. Hi Mike

This 100 Blog Post Challenge certainly is a good idea! My blog had been neglected as I was working on other sites. I joined the Challenge on 10 August when my blog’s Alexa rank was 23,585,236. I haven’t added any more posts to my blog since then but I’ve now made a comment on 100 blogs and have had 33 comments on my blog (so far). I’ve replied to each comment on my blog. I post a link to each blog post I comment on at identi.ca. I don’t know how many of the 33 people who have commented on my blog post have posted a link to it on social network sites, but my Alexa ranking is now 1,886,890! Imagine if we did this every month!

I’ve posted a link to this page on identi.ca for you (makes a change from Twitter!)

  31. Hi Mike,

 On the bimbo moment! I have them regularly so I am always making fun of myself!

I often refer myself as bimbo! Tis a bit like when Homer from the Simpsons say ‘Doh’.

This idea has been a great idea and I have noticed a lot of community blogging spirit develop as well as there are some amazing blogs full of content on board in so many different niches, which is really cool.

Now that phase 1 is down and we have all the contributors on board, it is up to everyone now on whether we all succeed or not. It is up to the contributors to make sure they comment on everyone’s blogs and honour their commitment to the challenge.

I get the feeling not everyone will get to everyone’s blogs before the deadline however I am still hoping they will still comment on everyone’s blogs.

Have fun with the challenge and happy blog hopping!

    Cheers

    Jacinta :D

This has been such an excellent project. I have learned so much in only a month or so. So many new concepts introduced and their respective strengths and weaknesses. New people that have been putting a face on each angle of IM. I do this, I do that. Nice. It’s about time for me to review all of them and make an action plan. Set priorities. Get things going. This was so needed.

All the best for your tractor show. Organising events is a huge task … yeah idea come from random thought and one of the best times I get ideas is while I’m having a bath, on the potty or just about to sleep .. ha ha ha

But I think the more important thing is to further think about it, discuss it with like minded people and see where it goes – 99% of ideas just come and go and we (atleast I) do nothing about it!

As number 98 it was nice to see a few late comers come in behind me :)

Interesting concept by Jacinta and it has certainly introduced us to some people we have not seen before.
    Some great blogs here,

    Regards,

  59. Hi Mike
It has been a long 100- blog comment challenge but well worth the effort. Now I can relax for a little while. But not for too long. So many new ideas and such great feedback. I have just got to reach for new heights.
Thanks for your post and I hope you enjoyed the challenge.
    All the best

    Hi Eamon,
I agree that it was a long challenge 100 doesn’t seem like a lot, but when reading, leaving meaningful comments takes some time.
    Take care.
